Northern State University invites applications for an Instructional Designer position.

 

Qualifications:  Masters degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related academic degree from a regionally accredited institution.  Working knowledge of course design methodologies, assessments, learning objective alignment, and measurement strategies.  Experience in using a variety of technologies and software applications used by faculty in the delivery of face-to-face, hybrid, or online curriculum is preferred.  Demonstrated experience designing, developing and delivering faculty training and professional development programs.  Possess a minimum of two-years of instructional design experience working directly with online programs and online course development.

 

The successful applicant should possess an understanding of learning management systems, specifically Desire2Learn (D2L) and best practices for online course delivery.  The candidate must have an excellent customer service base including the ability to interact positively with internal and external clients through effective written and oral communication.  The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of the NET Services team.

 

Responsibilities:  Essential responsibilities of this position include support for faculty assigned to teach courses coordinated by the Office for Online and Continuing Education.  In addition, the instructional designer will support the integration of technology into learning environments including; face-to-face classes at on and off-campus locations, online, hybrid, videoconferencing and other delivery methods by providing consultation and support for instructional technology selection and implementation, as well as developing workshops, demonstrations and training opportunities.
