The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for a Director, Aca­demic. The Director will help to oversee the Center for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CET&L) and will further help to continue the development of its programs and resources, including assessment of its activities. This position will also develop collaborative relationships with a variety of related positions and offices, such as the General Education Program, the Integrated Core Learning initiative, the Honors Scholars Program, the Faculty Technology Resources Center, Faculty Development, and pedagogy initiatives within University Libraries, and relevant initiatives within Faculty Senate and Student Affairs.

The Director will also need to manage a staff, help maintain the CET&L web site and to develop informational materials about the CET&L as well as reports on the overall status of the CET&L generally, and maintain the Center budget. The Director will report to the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs.

Job Description: Duties must be directly related to conducting, directing, or assisting in an academic program or academic unit, or directing or assisting with the direction of an academic advising office or center. The position must have primary responsibility for the administration of the program or unit. These duties must comprise of at least 75% or more of the work assigned to the position.

Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree with demonstrated, relevant experience in teaching and learning is required.

Position Qualification: The Director should have demonstrated excellence in and com­mitment to teaching and learning, particularly with a focus on service improving student learning outcomes and supporting faculty in the context of these goals. The Director should also be knowledgeable about experiential learning and the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. They should be knowledgeable about scholarly teaching and national discussions of teaching and learning, gateway courses, and the integration of diversity and inclusion across the curricula.
