Analytical Position




The Department of Chemistry at Minot State University invites applications for a one-year special contract (non-tenure track) faculty position in Analytical Chemistry. Student engagement is important at Minot State University and our university is one where the faculty work closely with the students in courses and in research. We seek someone who will enthusiastically participate in undergradaute education.


This appointment begins August 18, 2014. A PhD in Chemistry is preferred but ABD and Masters candidates will be considered. Teaching expectations include Quantitative Analysis, Instrumental Analysis, and Environmental Chemistry as well as introductory courses (possibilities include Survey of Chemistry, Introductory Chemistry, and General Chemistry).


While not required for this position, there is an opportunity to conduct research with undergraduate students during the time of this appointment. In addition to basic lab equipment, the department is well equipped for a variety of research. Available instrumentation includes Atomic Absorption, X-Ray Diffraction, Inductively Coupled Plasma, and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry.
