The MBA Career Management Center (CMC) director is responsible for managing all aspects of MBA recruiting at the Kenan-Flagler Business School (KFBS), including the development of strong corporate relationships; marketing the school s graduates to national and international firms; and overseeing all CMC programs and services offered to students and corporate contacts. The director works closely with all area of the school, including the Dean s office, MBA Admissions and Student Services, the Leadership Initiative, and Corporate Relations, to enhance external relationships. The director is an important part of a team, including the Director of Admissions, Director of the MBA Program, and Director of the Leadership Initiative, which has an integral role in the management and improvement of the MBA program. An undergraduate degree is required. A master s degree in a related field (e.g., MBA) is strongly preferred. Five or more years of strong management experience and or career counseling experience in a corporate or academic setting with graduate business students. Knowledge of the MBA career decision-making and employment process. Ability to plan, direct, coordinate, and monitor the activities of others. Ability to negotiate with others to arrive at a shared consensus or settlement. Ability to listen to customers (e.g., dean, students, corporate recruiters, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests. Ability to work effectively under pressure, ambiguity, and conflicting goals. Excellent oral and written communication presentation skills. Demonstrated leadership experience. Strong customer focus. Develop new techniques, approaches and methods and to create innovative solutions.
