Dean: Associate Dean for CAS - OSU Job Posting # 0012341. The College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) at Oregon State University is seeking an exceptional candidate for an Associate Dean position. This is a full-time,12-month tenured administrator appointment that serves at the pleasure of the Dean. The Associate Dean is a member of the senior administrative leadership team in the College consisting of the Dean, Executive Associate Dean, and one other Associate Dean. Together, they are responsible for executive functions, including policy development, strategic planning, and-with the unit administrators-for managing, administering, and coordinating the operations of the College, the Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station, and the agricultural sciences and natural resources program of the OSU Extension Service. With other members of the administrative team, the Associate Dean has responsibilities relating to personnel, program, and budget management, promoting communication and cooperation, and otherwise advancing the integration of education, outreach and engagement, and research programs for specific units of the College. The Associate Dean manages a portfolio of approximately 15 units within the College which includes departments, branch experiment stations, and centers/institutes. Required qualifications include: Earned doctorate in agriculture, natural resources, or other disciplinary field closely aligned to the mission and programs of the College of Agricultural Sciences; Eligible for appointment as full professor in a College of Agricultural Sciences academic unit; National and/or international recognition for research, teaching, or outreach; Proven leadership ability; Record as an effective team member and team-builder; Experience with agriculture, food systems, natural resources, or related field; Record of successful experience managing people, programs, and budgets; Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; Evidence of vision and the ability to achieve it; and Commitment to the College's mission, values and organizational principles and practices.
