A number of full-time, continuing faculty status track, professorial positions in the School of Family Life (SFL) to strengthen the excellence of teaching and research in the three primary areas of the School: Human Development, Marriage and Family Studies, and Marriage and Family Therapy. Particular hiring needs are broad. Responsibilities include publishing high quality research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and providing service on program, school, college, and university committees. Flexible employment arrangements may be discussed with outstanding candidates.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
A Ph.D. in family studies, human development, developmental psychology, marriage and family therapy, family and consumer sciences, or a related discipline is required. Those with established academic or professional careers are encouraged to apply, as well as outstanding new Ph.D.s or ABDs who will complete their degrees by August 2015. Evidence of scholarly research achievement or clear potential in the field is required. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is required.

The School of Family Life (SFL), in the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences, is one of the largest and most dynamic programs of its kind in the United States. SFL offers two undergraduate majors: Family Life, with emphases in Human Development and Marriage and Family Studies, and Family and Consumer Sciences Education. The school has nearly 40 full-time faculty members and more than 700 undergraduate majors. SFL also offers MS and Ph.D. degrees in Marriage, Family, and Human Development, and in Marriage and Family Therapy. There are approximately 80 students in the MS or Ph.D. programs in the School. Brigham Young University is one of the largest private universities in the U.S. and is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The university has approximately 30,000 students and 1,300 faculty. Located at the foot of the Wasatch Mountain range, the university is located in Provo, Utah, a community of approximately 90,000.

 The MS and Ph.D. programs in Marriage and Family Therapy are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. Applicants for MFT positions must hold the designation as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor (or Candidate) and be eligible for licensure as an MFT in Utah.
