Ohio University is seeking a highly energetic individual to serve as Vice Provost of the Office of Global Affairs and International Studies. The successful candidate will possess the skills and experience to:

Develop the university-wide global strategy to internationalize the Ohio University learning and living community
Infuse global education and research into the curricula on campuses and abroad and manage institutional relationships
Lead the Center for International Studies, the Office of Education Abroad, Global Leadership Center, International Faculty and Student Services and the Global Services Program
Assess global trends and implication for higher education
Develop and promote globalization inside and outside Ohio University in research and scholarship
Chair the Senior International Management Team
Direct undergraduate and graduate programs in global and area studies
Teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs
Serve as a resource for curriculum innovations and integration
Advance collaborative international initiatives including joint programming, enrollment efforts and the institutions international strategic plan
Advise university leadership on matters relating to international protocol
Engage in fundraising and curriculum based classroom instruction
Oversee risk management and international faculty, student and travel policies and procedures

The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Ph.D in International Development Studies or a closely related discipline, and a notable record of teaching, creative and scholarly activity, and outreach of an international nature within a global context that merit tenure at the rank of professor in an appropriate department. The candidate must have demonstrated capacity for university leadership to include at least 5 years of substantial service as a chair, director, or executive level administrator for a significant academic program or an equivalent role in an internationally focused organization.
