Columbia University in the City of New York is currently seeking Title IX Investigators to join its Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action (EOAA) team. The Title IX Investigator is responsible for managing investigations of incidents of alleged gender-based misconduct, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, intimate partner violence, and stalking where a University student is accused of this behavior. Working with the Investigative Team, the Title IX Investigator will conduct prompt and thorough investigations, prepare an investigative plan and timeline, identify and interview witnesses, and gather and secure relevant documentation. He/she acts as an impartial party in the investigation and prepares a detailed report of the investigative findings.
Bachelors degree required. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience, which should include experience in conducting investigations and in complaint and grievance resolution, is required. Demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to interpret federal, state, and local equal opportunity and nondiscrimination laws and regulations, including Title IX, FERPA, Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Violence Against Women Act, and other applicable laws and regulations, is required. JD, MSW highly preferred.
