Reports To: Academic Program Leadership—Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Science, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Health Sciences and the Executive Director of Business, Accounting and Economics

Description: The Senior Instructional Technologist is responsible for providing support to faculty for implementing new teaching and learning technologies and for the effective integration of technology into face-to-face, online and hybrid courses. The position will support the development and adoption of online and hybrid course technology, the use of course management system software and features, and the exploration of emerging technologies, while collaborating with faculty to demonstrate the effectiveness of instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning in various instructional settings.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate, promote, and encourage training for technology and the course management system for new full time and adjunct faculty
-In particular, develop short videos and other instructional guides to provide on-demand access for faculty
• Facilitate development of hybrid and online courses taught by Carroll University faculty, and increase the number of hybrid courses offered annually
• Participate in the evaluation of classroom technologies and their impact on student learning and create venues for dissemination of outcomes to faculty
• Provide training and support for faculty implementing technology in their courses
• Develop cooperative relationships with members of the Networking, Academic Computing and Administrative Technology units and coordinate with them as needed
• Identify trends and support pilot programs for promising emerging technologies
• Serve as a resource to faculty
• Compile and analyze data and prepare reports as needed
• Manage a staff of student workers who provide project support, newsletter development, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Must have teaching experience and an understanding of effective pedagogies
• Two to five years’ experience working with technology in an educational setting
• Experience administering and/or using a course management system
• Familiarity with a variety of academic software applications
• Demonstrated interest and ability to acquire new technical skills
