Computing: The School of Computing at DePaul University in Chicago invites applicants for a full-time one-year faculty position in data science in the Predictive Analytics program. The School of Computing is located in the heart of Chicago's Loop, the central business district of Chicago and started offering a MS in Predictive Analytics degree in 2011. The degree has been growing at a fast pace, and includes four concentrations, including a track in computational methods, and three tracks taught jointly with DePaul's Graduate Business School. Students are highly engaged and eager to gain advanced knowledge of data science techniques and tools. Ideal candidates for the position will have expertise and teaching experience in data science with an emphasis in computational statistics, data mining, data visualization, pattern recognition or machine learning. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in a discipline related to data science or in computer science with emphasis in one of the areas listed above by the start date. Industry experience or strong interest in health care analytics is a plus. Candidates will be affiliated with the DePaul's Data Mining and Predictive Analytics Center, a multidisciplinary center that was created in 2011 to bring together faculty, students and private organizations interested in data science. Job responsibilities include teaching, curricular development, supervising graduate students in analytics practicum projects, and fostering collaborations with industry.
