The Program Director for Recruiting is responsible for developing and maintaining employer and graduate school recruiting relationships. The Program Director for Recruiting will focus on building new models for connecting Carleton students with sought-after employers. This position requires a great deal of creativity, ingenuity, and self-direction to envision and build relationships and pipelines to employers. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for managing Carletons participation in national and regional career-affiliated organizations. This staff member also serves as a career-counselor generalist, with expertise in the areas of business and finance, and will serve as the pre-law adviser.


Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities

*Manage relationships with employers. Identify employers that are good fits for Carleton students and cultivate alumni, parents, and friends of the College who can help develop hiring relationships.
*Develop and implement new models for building employment pipelines. Explore options and build processes for candidate pre-screening programs, showcase/ competition programs, and others.
*Manage all on-campus recruiting.
*Manage consortial job fair participation (Minnesota Private College Career Consortium, Selective Liberal Arts Consortium)
*Provide MBA advising.
*Oversee creation and maintenance of office instructional materials/handouts and website. Ensure that all instructional materials and website are up-to-date, professionally presented, and accurate.
*Serve as Carleton liaison to professional/consortial groups including MPCCC, MNACE, MCUCSA, SLAC, and LACN.
*Provide direct service/career guidance to students through workshops and individual appointments.
*Counsel students on law school and application process.

Additional Job Responsibilities:
*Serve as a member of the Career Centers career counseling team. Assist with office-wide initiatives and programs.
*Act as liaison to assigned academic departments.
*Coordinate a small group of peer leaders to assist with recruiting functions.


This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities for any professional staff members. The incumbent will work closely with the Administrative Assistant to coordinate recruiting functions, and will play an informal supervisory role to a small peer leader team.

The Program Director for Recruiting reports to the Director of the Career Center, and will have a high level of autonomy in creating and running all recruiting related initiatives.


Required Qualifications

* Masters degree in relevant field
* 5 years experience in career development in a higher education setting; or background in HR/recruiting
