Our mission is to enhance teaching and learning, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about facilitating the development of Georgia Tech faculty with instructional excellence, innovation, and challenges.


The ideal candidate will help CETL in assisting a wide range of faculty from new lecturers to tenured professors by serving as a resource for those who want to improve their teaching or explore a teaching innovation. The successful candidate will be a superb communicator and able to converse fluently with subject matter experts in diverse academic disciplines. This full- time position reports to the CETL Assistant Director for Programming.


This is a dynamic administrative position with the following responsibilities:


  • Contribute to current teaching enrichment programs including from discipline-specific workshops, multi-disciplinary learning communities, and large campus events on teaching and learning
  • Help with regular needs assessments to determine what new programming should be developed and what changes should be made to CETLs existing portfolio
  • Assist with the design and implementation of new programming and events as needed
  • Lead or assist with speaker recruitment and marketing for events
    • Track campus activities related to teaching and learning
    • Provide individual consultation with faculty members upon request
    • Participate as a member of the CETL team and assist with projects as needed
    • Teach CETL courses.*


*Possible opportunity to teach up to two courses per calendar year in an academic department if desired.


Required Experience and Skills:

The minimum educational requirement for this position is a doctoral degree in a STEM field, education, or any field represented at Georgia Tech. Candidates must either have completed the doctorate or be within 6 months of completion at the time of hiring. Furthermore, candidates should have teaching experience at the college/university level and a demonstrated  commitment to improving their own teaching as they learn about and implement research- based practices in teaching.  The ability to attend to detail and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.


Preferred Experience and Skills:

Experience facilitating teaching enrichment workshops and/or learning communities Experience providing individual consultation on teaching and learning issues

About CETL:

The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) is an institute-wide unit which services all disciplines. The goal of CETL is to enhance the teaching and learning standard of excellence by fostering, recognizing and rewarding a community of unparalleled teachers and learners through our commitment to faculty development, assessment, and support.


The person who fills this position will be a member of CETL and involved in all existing programs.  This person will collaborate with colleagues in the Office of Learning Excellence and with appropriate people on campus to enhance teaching and learning.



This position will be a member of the Faculty at Georgia Tech with a salary that is commensurate with degrees earned and prior experience.
