The University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for an assistant, associate or full professor OR a clinical assistant, associate or full professor for its program in Physical Therapy. The program in Physical Therapy offers an entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. The program is within the Department of Health Professions, located in the College of Health and Public Affairs. The Department of Health Professions houses baccalaureate programs in Athletic Training and Pre-Clinical Health Sciences.

Located in east Orlando, UCFs 1,415-acre main campus provides modern facilities, with 600 acres set aside for lakes, woods and an arboretum. More than 60,000 students attend classes on UCFs main campus and its 10 regional campuses located throughout Central Florida, making it the second largest university in the country. UCF has 12 colleges, including the newly established College of Medicine at the Lake Nona campus. This site will soon include a new Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The UCF Program in Physical Therapy has a small-tomedium sized student cohort and possesses numerous partnerships involving hospital organizations and rehabilitation clinics for research and scholarly activity. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will lead courses and participate in additional teaching activities in content areas specifically related to neurologic rehabilitation and gerontology Expectations also include university and professional service and research.

Position Minimum Qualifications:
An entry level degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE accredited institution. Candidates must also meet one of the following two specifications; (1) either an academic doctoral degree (Ph.D, Ed.D., etc.) from an accredited institution, (ABDs will be considered, but degree must be conferred by beginning of appointment) or (2) a post-professional doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT) or related clinical doctorate from an accredited institution and board-certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Candidates must also be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida, and have a record of scholarly activity in relevant areas of geriatric or neurologic rehabilitation. Applicants in progress toward post-professional doctoral degree may be considered (DPT must be completed by beginning of appointment) and if they possess current clinical specialization by the ABPTS.
Applicants being considered for tenure-track position must have a record of scholarly activity that projects strong potential to compete for and secure extramural funding.
An earned academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., etc.) from an accredited institution, with an established research agenda; record of extramural funding and displayed ability to pursue funding; experience in teaching DPT courses in a CAPTE accredited institution related to gerontology or neurologic rehabilitation; and a board certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in Geriatrics (GCS) or Neurology (NCS).
