Full-time, tenure track position in the Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology to begin August 2014.


Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering or a related field is required. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.  Relevant industry experience, experience in a multi-skilled mechanical and electrical environment and certifications related to the multi-skilled, mechanical/electrical industry standards preferred.


Responsibilities: Teach electromechanical engineering technology courses in fluid and pneumatic systems, manufacturing processes, control systems, machine design, mathematical system modeling and dynamics, and engineering economy will be required.  Additional experiences/skills in mechatronics/robotics, industrial networks and servo controls will be a plus. This individual will be expected to be involved in laboratory maintenance and development, develop and teach on-line courses for the EMT program and teach at MSU satellite campuses.


Duties include involvement with professional organizations, student placement, participation in student recruitment and building industry relations. A level of research and writing, commensurate of an assistant professor, tenure-track position is required.
