WSU invites you to join our Community of Learners as an Advising Specialist.
As an Advising Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting faculty with advising services for the College of Science & Engineering (COSE). Additionally, you will (1) provide support to faculty advisors and assist with advising services for COSE majors, pre-professional students, COSE students on academic warning or probation, and new COSE transfer students; (2) work closely with the college dean, faculty, and support staff, as well as other key student service areas such as the Warrior Success Center, Admissions, and the Student Record Services Office; (3) be involved in programs such as new student registration and prospective student programming; (4) teach two sections of the first-year orientation course for COSE students each year; and (5) assist college and departments with assessment and data collection.
If you possess a bachelors or advanced degree in a STEM field and one year of experience in advising, teaching, and/or student programming in a post-secondary educational setting, we encourage you to apply.
