WSU invites you to join our Community of Learners as our Head Teacher for our school age children at the WSU Childrens Center.   As a Head Teacher, you will be responsible for the management of the classroom, planning and implementing curriculum that aligns with Minnesota early learning standards, and maintaining individual documentation for each child in the classroom.  Additional duties associated with this position include:  (1) orienting, supervising and evaluating volunteers, student workers, practicum students, tutors and student teachers; (2) maintaining state licensing and accreditation requirements; (3) participating in annual institutional requirements for position evaluation and professional development activities; (4) maintaining classroom safety and cleanliness standards; and (5) maintaining all necessary records such as student documentation, food program paperwork, staff scheduling, medication, and incident report. 


If you possess a bachelors degree in Education, possess a current teaching license with Birth-Grade 3, K-6 with Preschool Endorsement, or Special Education in Early Childhood courses, are eligible for MN teacher licensure, and have two or more years of successful teaching experience in a formal or informal classroom, we encourage you to apply.  Note:  Successful applicant will be required to submit to and successfully complete a State of Minnesota Department of Human Services Division of Licensing Criminal Background Check Study.
