Job Description: Project Management and supervisory role with intermediate to advanced technical level requirements. Provides Project Management (oversees various moderate to complex projects) and participates in virtual Project Management Office (PMO) for UFIT, Network Services (NS). Supervises and assists the network logistics team that handles many aspects of project management, purchasing, budgeting, contracts; vendor management; documentation maintenance; asset and database management for UFIT NS, and Florida Lambda Rail (FLR), LLC. Additionally: Works with customer to define project scope and objectives. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Facilitates the analysis and resolution of issues that impede project progress Communicates the customerproject timeline and project priority to the project team members, vendors and supervisors Works with project team members to obtain approval and authorization for access to UF computing resources as needed for the project Meets with vendors to discuss customer expectations and explain UFIT policies and procedures and access to computing resources. * Acts as liaison between IT technical teams and network resource managers. Serves as main point of NS contact for ITSM, and assists with development and analysis of metrics. * Develops, executes and reviews vendor contracts including strategic agreements, return of trade in equipment, and very large and complex maintenance contracts. * Coordinates and assists with Asset Management to insure effective network inventory management. Supervises logistics team including three 1.0 FTE TEAMS and two 0.5 FTE OPS personnel. * Assists, creates and maintains technical documentation, document systems, organizational tools and methods.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree and four years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications High-level project management skills and knowledge of industry and university standards such as:Advanced project management skills, and supervision of technical staff. Advanced supervisory skills including leadership, team building, and conflict resolution. Advanced knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP\\:IP, DHCP, DNS, ICMP. Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking such as switching and routing. Knowledge and understanding of the UF Telecommunications standards. Thorough understanding of physical networking principles and their application. Knowledge of physical network infrastructure and the components. Knowledge of the UF cable labeling standard. Advanced knowledge of the UF online documentation systems such as STARS, Remedy, Pinnacle, campus map, and all Network Services WIKI- based systems. Experience with Visio and Excel Experience with markup languages such as xml, htm.
