JOB DUTIES: Duties include teaching in the Bachelor of Science Organizational Leadership (BSOL) program; advising students; and planning, developing, and implementing the BSOL curriculum. The candidate chosen will work with teams of industrial supervisors and other educators to continue competency identification and curriculum development. The instructional methodology will focus on utilizing interactive, self-directed, online, and traditional lecture/lab methods of learning. The instructor will design and facilitate learning experiences to contextually-based student learning around the performance of tasks necessary to be effective as a manager in the industrial enterprise. Additional responsibilities may include program assessment; recruitment and retention activities; and other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a masters degree in industrial/ manufacturing technology, business, management/leadership, psychology, or related area, a Ph.D. is preferred (ABD with scheduled defense date may be considered); plus two years of successful experience in an industrial environment. Candidates with a thorough knowledge of industrial processes and management; and evidence of successful instructional delivery are preferred. The successful candidate must be self-motivated; have the ability to work without direct supervision while maintaining an ongoing dialogue with individuals and groups with varied backgrounds; be able to focus on customer satisfaction; possess a strong desire to make a positive difference; demand a high level of personal performance; and have the ability to make course materials relevant to the learner. Design and implementation of this program will require the ability to think outside the box and explore new concepts in education. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.
SALARY & BENEFITS: Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, with appointment expected at a minimum rank of assistant professor.
