The Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, Lecturer position to begin August 11, 2014. This is a one-year (renewable depending on performance, staffing needs, and budget considerations), non-tenure-eligible, teaching position.  Area of specialization is open but candidates will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses including: Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Personality, Career Development, Substance Abuse, Behavior Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Introduction to Therapy, Physiological Psychology, and Statistics, among others.  Specific course assignments will vary across semesters and years depending on department needs. The position carries a 5-5 teaching load and minimal service to the department.  Research activity is neither required nor supported.  Teaching online may also be required.  A Ph.D. in Psychology is preferred; a Master's degree in Psychology  is the minimum requirement. University teaching experience strongly preferred.  The Psychology Department (www.psychology.eku.edu) has 21 full-time faculty members, approximately 800 undergraduate majors and 75 graduate students, and offers four graduate programs: the MS in Clinical, I/O, and General Psychology, and the Psy.S. in School Psychology.  EKU serves over 16,000 students and is located in the central Bluegrass area of Kentucky.  Review of applications will begin on June 17, 2014, and will continue until the position is filled.
