The School of Teaching, Learning and Leadership invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor, K-12 Reading Education position (36210). This position is an Orlando campus, tenure-earning, full-time, nine-month appointment with benefits. Primary responsibilities will be to teach reading education courses, work with other program faculty to develop/refine reading education curriculum, conduct research in the field of reading education, engage in writing, submitting and receiving external grants to support program and research initiatives, advise students, serve on departmental and college committees, and perform other duties as assigned, which may include supervision of student teachers.
Minimum qualifications for consideration include an earned doctorate in reading education or a closely related field from an accredited institution by time of hire. Significant K-12 teaching experience is also required. Preference will be given to candidates with significant post-secondary teaching experience in the field of reading education, have technology skills to teach online classes, and experience in applying for external funding.
