The Counselor Education Program in the Child, Family and Community Sciences Department invites applications for Assistant Professor in Counselor Education (36368). This position is an Orlando campus, tenure-earning, full-time, nine-month appointment with benefits. The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual with strong research, teaching, and interpersonal skills. Primary duties include teaching a variety of graduate-level counseling courses, conducting research, engaging in writing, submitting and receiving external grants to support program and research initiatives, supervising practicum and internship students, serving on doctoral dissertation committees, serving on departmental and college committees, and performing other duties as assigned.


Minimum qualifications for consideration include an earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a closely related field from an accredited institution at the time of employment, specialization in one of the program areas - school, mental health, couple and family counseling, demonstrated evidence of (or potential for) research, expertise in graduate-level teaching, and active participation in professional organizations. Preferred qualifications include graduating from a CACREP accredited program, expertise in school counseling, and demonstrated evidence of (or potential for) grant writing.
