UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY. Assistant Professor of Military & Strategic Studies (#14-23DFMI). The Department of Military & Strategic Studies anticipates filling an Assistant Professor position beginning November 3, 2014. This initial appointment will end on June 30, 2017. Successive reappointments of up to four years in length are possible. The person hired can expect to teach one and possibly both core (required) courses, Airpower and the Military Profession and Joint Operations Strategy and Technology. The successful applicant may also teach upper-level elective courses to include Developing the Air Force Strategist; Toward New Horizons in Military & Strategic Power; Military Innovation and Transformation; Weapons, Warfare and Disruptive Effects, and advanced courses on each of the military operational domains (air, space, cyberspace, and surface warfare). A Ph.D. in the history of technology, demonstrated scholarly expertise in contemporary military innovation, and a record of undergraduate teaching are required.
