Participate in the recruitment, selection and assignment of athletic personnel; implement the Universitys Affirmative Action program as it relates to athletics; represent the athletic department in its relationship with the Student Government Association; determine eligibility of students by both the NCAA and University standards and prepare necessary conference and NCAA eligibility reports. Develop and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures; oversee athletic scholarships and grants; complete and submit annual professional membership applications and reports; and foster an intercollegiate athletic program that adds to the positive image of the University and its mission.


Minimum requirements: Masters degree in athletics/sports administration, business administration, physical education, or a teaching field; 7-10 years supervisory and administrative experience and completion of a successful interview. Additional qualifications: Extensive administrative experience in a higher education NCAA student athletic setting; demonstrated experience with budget management; experience in the daily operation of sports programs at the secondary or post-secondary level; strong planning and organizational skills; exceptional interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities; demonstrated leadership abilities; current first aid/CPR certification; demonstration, through past accomplishments and behaviors, of the ability to support Mansfield Universitys principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service ( and the Universitys strong student-centered vision and mission; and possession of a valid drivers license or the ability to obtain one upon commencement of employment. Preferred: Doctorate degree; extensive administrative experience in an Athletics Department of a NCAA Division II institution. Other conditions of employment include verification of all earned degrees through the receipt of original transcripts, an acceptable background check report, and positive references.
