The Department of Government at Eastern Kentucky University seeks a One (1) year Visiting Assistant Professor, specializing in Human Resource Management, beginning August 11, 2014. In addition to offering an undergraduate major in Political Science and a post-baccalaureate certificate in Paralegal Science, the Department also offers a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. The Program, fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), focuses on regional and local government, with specialized programs of study in community development, community health administration and environmental health.
The teaching load is 12 hours per semester. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Political Science or Public Administration by the time of appointment; candidates possessing an ABD will also be considered. Candidates will be expected to teach one or more core courses in the MPA program, with the ability to develop and/or teach fully online courses. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach other elective courses in the undergraduate or graduate program related to human resource management. The candidate will also be expected to teach introductory and upper-division courses for the undergraduate Political Science program.
