The School of Lifespan Development and Educational Sciences at Kent State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of ASL/English Interpreting beginning 2014-2015.
Doctorate in ASL Linguistics, Interpreting, Deaf Studies, Deaf Education, or a related field with native/near-native proficiency in ASL, RID/NAD/NIC certification, and a minimum of three years of ITP teaching or college experience. ABD candidates are eligible but dissertation and all other degree requirements must be completed by August 2014. Candidates must be a licensed educational interpreter or eligible for Ohio licensure, with at least three years of interpreting experience including some K-12 classroom interpreting experience preferred.
