Iowa State University's Thielen Student Health Center is seeking applications for Prevention Specialists who will plan, implement, and evaluate theory- and evidence-based prevention strategies, policies, programs, and services. The specialists will participate in the development of strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for prevention programs and services. They will also develop, implement, and analyze periodic student health surveys that 1) provide baseline and follow-up health data, 2) identify program needs and priorities, 3) evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, and 4) track trends in student health status and behavior. Responsibilities of this position require collaboration with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to prevention for students, as well as training and supervision of staff.
The successful candidate will possess leadership and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills to include one-on-one, small and large group presentations, workshops and training; and ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.
