The Department of Art at Texas A&M University (Commerce, Texas) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Painting to start in the Fall 2014 semester.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach all levels of Painting and Drawing, along with Foundations courses. Collaborate with Art faculty to guide upper-level students in theoretical applications. Maintain an active studio practice. Continued research and painting activity and service to the Department, College and University as required..
Applicants must have earned MFA with significant course work in painting, at least one year college-level teaching experience beyond TA, knowledge and understanding of contemporary theoretical concerns in the art world and must have experience teaching at the graduate level of art.
