Job Description:
Participate in a team-oriented working environment through all phases of the recruitment and selection process-travel, application review and interviewing. Actively communicates with prospective students, families, counselors, and alumni in an assigned geographic territory. Responsible for program oversight and management including but not limited to any of the following: recruitment, the campus visit experience and special events, admission volunteer programs, and data management and analysis. Includes full share of travel (6 - 9 weeks/yr), interviewing, public presentations, and application evaluation; other projects will be assigned.

The level of appointment will be based on the years of experience and capabilities of the successful candidate.

Essential Functions:
- Travel domestically 6-9 weeks per year to initiate the recruitment process.
- Conducts interviews and engaging presentations that focus on the value of a liberal arts education.
- Administers efficient and accurate application review and evaluation.
- Lead and manage the effective and creative daily and long-term efforts of assigned team member. Define responsibilities and goals, and objectives to support Admission and University missions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Preferred Qualifications: - Fluency in Spanish or a language other than English is preferred.
- Ability to creatively implement initiatives using social media and experience with the strategic use of technology.

Qualifications
(Education and Experience)
:
- A Bachelor's degree with the ability to communicate the value of a liberal arts education to students and outside constituents by demonstrating an understanding of the liberal arts is required.
- 3-5+ years of college admissions experience is required.
- Desirable experiences include working with volunteer populations, special event management, and involvement with campus visit programs.
- Ability to craft a message articulating and promoting the value of a liberal arts education and presenting it to a wide variety of audiences, especially in oral presentations.
- Ability to communicate with underrepresented populations, urban populations, and first-generation college students and their families.
- A current and valid driver's license required.
- Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States effective July 1, 2014.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and a high comfort level with public speaking before large groups. An ability to effectively engage audiences through dynamic oral presentations is essential.
- Excellent interviewing skills are essential.
- Ability to travel frequently by various modes of transportation in a variety of locations and the ability to maintain a high energy level for sustained periods of time while doing so is essential.
- Must maintain a familiarity with NCAA rules and is responsible for compliance with those rules.
- Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and visitors on a daily basis.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours and some holidays is required.
