The Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy (ISERP) at Columbia University University invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline to serve as the Director of the Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (QMSS) program, beginning July 1, 2014.
We seek candidates with intellectual accomplishments, with relevant teaching and administrative experience, and broad interests in the social sciences. The appointee will be responsible for program administration, which includes administering the budget, recruiting and advising students, overseeing the program's curriculum, making sure courses are appropriately staffed, and various other tasks necessary for QMSS to achieve its mission. In addition, the appointee will teach four courses which will include courses in the QMSS core curriculum and relevant electives. The appointee will report directly to the director of the Institute for Social and Economic Policy and Research.
This is a full-time appointment with multi-year renewal contingent upon successful reviews. The home academic department of the appointment will depend on the successful candidate's area of training and expertise.
