Engineering: The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications for two non-tenure track Lecturer positions effective August 2014. The College of Engineering is experiencing an unprecedented growth and the primary duty of the selected candidates will be to teach at the undergraduate level. A Ph.D. in Engineering or a M.S. in Engineering with at least three (3) years of teaching or practical engineering experience is required. The candidate's engineering degree(s) must be in an area related to the specific teaching areas listed below. Position responsibilities include effective classroom teaching of undergraduate courses, laboratory supervision, mentoring undergraduate engineering students, and working with other faculty on innovative teaching methods within the college's growing instructional programs. Effective communication skills are required. Successful applicants must be able to teach courses in either the Engineering Mechanics or Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering area. Specifically, one Lecturer position will involve teaching core undergraduate engineering courses and supporting instruction efforts for the following courses: Statics, Dynamics, Strength of Materials, and Fluid Mechanics. The second Lecturer position will involve teaching courses and laboratories in power systems and/or other electrical and computer systems engineering areas. Special consideration will be given to candidates in either area who are capable of also teaching courses in engineering economics.
