The Department of Undergraduate Admission at Princeton University announces an opening for a manager of information technology.

The successful candidate will provide support for the Admission office and serve as their liaison to the University's Office of Information Technology. The position is responsible for managing the admission technical staff. The position is responsible for the security, maintenance and reporting of admission data. Supports the Dean in providing longitudinal data for institutional reporting requirements and reports to the University's senior leadership. Candidate must have strong project management experience.


The position is responsible for identifying enhancements, performing maintenance, and providing quality assurance and availability of admission systems including but not limited to PeopleSoft Admission and Recruitment, OnBase, Princeton Application Tracking System, and ASC Interview Site. Candidate must be capable of providing support for Windows 7 and Mac OSX 10.x operating systems. The position requires the ability to manage office hardware, as well as configure and troubleshoot computing applications, networking, and databases in a heterogeneous environment.


Previous experience with student information systems, document management systems, web development and desktop support required. Must be able to keep abreast of new technology and to advise administrative staff on a broad-range of new hardware and software developments. Successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to articulate complex ideas, a willingness to work as a team member as well as independently, and be able to manage projects in a fast-paced and fluid environment.


The successful candidate will:


- Review technology as it relates to business processes, analyze existing procedures and develop related processes and procedures

- Solicit and provide feedback, evaluate and monitor client or customer satisfaction to improve the quality of services

- Proactively suggest more efficient ways to utilize technology

- Develop training materials on the effective use of technology and related security for The Department of Undergraduate Admission

- Review technology as it relates to business processes, analyze existing procedures and develop related processes and procedures

- Solicit and provide feedback, evaluate and monitor client or customer satisfaction to improve the quality of services

- Proactively suggest more efficient ways to utilize technology

- Represents the Admission Office at University-wide meetings including, but not limited to, the Project Management Team, the Data Managers Group and the Campus Community Coordinating Committee

Position Requires:


- Bachelor's degree

- Knowledge of Cognos ReportNet as a reporting tool preferred and of SQL and other relational databases (Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Access) required

- An understanding of Windows 7 and Mac OSX 10.x operating systems

- Candidate must be proficient in using Microsoft Office 2011/2013 and in data reporting and analysis

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, competing goals and tasks

- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and skills

- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment            

- Demonstrated success managing an IT function

- Experience with and ability to manage confidential data and information

- Ability to manage projects using custom developed solutions and packaged software

- Understanding of web architecture

- Ability to work effectively within a diverse and demanding environment

- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, and active listening skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate and collaborate

- Detail oriented with the ability to balance "attention to detail" while maintaining focus on the big picture


Preferred:


Experience working at Princeton University preferred but not required.
