Qualifications: BSN and MSN required. Preference will be given to applicants with pediatric experience, and have a documented record of teaching and clinical expertise. Current Registered Nurse licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Wisconsin is required.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the position include teaching, clinical, and scholarly activity, and program and university service. Teaching within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program includes junior and senior medical surgical nursing practicums and weekly laboratory sessions. Final course assignments will depend upon department needs as well as the preferences of the successful candidate. There is also the opportunity to teach in the universitys Pioneer Core general education program.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
The Program: The Department of Nursing is in the College of Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, and Business. The department offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and has approximately 340 students in the nursing major. The BSN program is approved by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing and accredited by CCNE through December 2020. Since 2010, Carroll nursing graduates have an NCLEX RN pass rate of 98%-100%. The nursing department faculty members have a record of scholarship and service. A full-time laboratory staff member coordinates two state-of-the art Nursing Skills and Simulation laboratories. Current practicum affiliations include health systems in southeastern Wisconsin and community health agencies.
The College: The College of Natural Sciences, Health Sciences and Business offers undergraduate and graduate programs through six departments - Life Sciences (animal behavior, biology, environmental science, psychology); Computational and Physical Sciences (actuarial science, applied physics/engineering, chemistry, computational science, computer science, information technology, mathematics, physics, software engineering); Health and Medical Sciences (health science-radiological sciences and medial sonography, physical and health education, physician assistant studies, public health, sports and recreation management, therapeutic recreation), Human Movement Sciences (athletic training, exercise science, exercise physiology, physical therapy); Nursing (BSN, RN to BSN, MSN); and Business, Economics and Accounting. The College has a strong staff of academic administrative and support personnel.
