The College of Public Health and Health Professions and the Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track position at the Associate or Full Professor rank. The position is part of the University of Floridas pre-eminence initiative (www.urel.ufl.edu/ufrising/) and involves interdisciplinary collaborations among the College of Public Health and Health Professions, the College of Education, the Institute for Child Health Policy (ICHP) and the Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies (CEECS). The focus of the interdisciplinary collaboration is Optimizing Early Childhood Development and Experience for Young Children.
Duties include some combination of teaching and research mentoring. It is expected the that candidate will be positioned in one of a number of highly ranked graduate programs including Clinical and Health Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Science and Community Health, Public Health, Epidemiology, and Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month position, with an open start date.
The Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies (http://ceecs.education.ufl.edu) research, teaching, model demonstration, and outreach connections focus on young childrens health and wellness, early intervention for young children with or at risk for disabilities, and quality teaching and learning in early childhood contexts (birth through age 5). The Institute for Child Health Policy (http://ichp.ufl.edu) currently includes 14 primary faculty, with an active research program in child health promotion and disease prevention research and health care delivery research to improve access to care and clinical services.
The University of Florida is a comprehensive Research I institution that includes a wide range of academic departments and programs (http://www.ufl.edu). The College of Public Health and Health Professions (http://www.phhp.ufl.edu) is part of the Universitys Health Science Center, which also includes the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine.
Minimum Requirements: A PhD in an appropriate area of specialization is required.
