The University Advancement/Information Systems office at the University of Virginia is seeking a full-time Senior Programmer/Analyst.  The position provides complex Oracle database programming and support for multiple schools and departments including writing program specifications, writing complex analytical reports, thorough testing of all SQL programming, troubleshooting problems/errors, project management of small and large IT projects, writing Oracle PL/SQL programs to identify inconsistencies with data, converting T-SQL programming to perform various data loads.  Will provide help desk services and manage small and large IT projects including planning and organizing work, tasks and projects and communicate progress of projects to various departments.   Will also work with development staff on a regular basis to provide instructions in a classroom setting on the process for executing, saving and scheduling Ellucian Advancement Performance reports written in Cognos Query Studio or Cognos Report Studio.  Additionally, this position will provide classroom instruction on how to utilize the Look-Up feature within the Ellucian Advance Web application.  The candidate will meet monthly with the Query Studio User Group to provide training and leadership to assist development staff with learning how to create reports using Query Studio.  Requires a Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or related engineering field and four (4) years of post-bachelors experience in a Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field, which must include one (1) year of experience in each of the following: writing Oracle PL/SQL programs; converting T-SQL programming; and managing small and large IT projects in a professional setting including planning and organizing work, tasks and projects and communicating progress of projects to various departments.  Apply at Posting Number 0614158.
