Georgia Institute of Technology invites nominations and applications for the Chair of the School of Architecture.  We are seeking a strong academic leader who can fuse our strengths in building design and research into a national and internationally recognized center of excellence in design pedagogy for the 21st century. The position will be a tenured faculty member with the rank of Professor or Associate Professor.


The School of Architecture is located in the heart of the vibrant Atlanta metro area that offers many opportunities for students and faculty.  The School has 28 full time faculty, a strong contingent of Professors of Practice and adjunct professors drawn from the practice community, outstanding students and a large and supportive alumni base. The School is the largest of five schools within the College of Architecture.  It offers a BS in Architecture, a professional Master of Architecture, a PhD in Architecture and several specialized MS degrees.  The school has recognized strengths in Urban Design, Building Information Modeling, Digital Fabrication, High Performance Buildings and Health Care Design.


Georgia Tech is a dynamic institution committed to creating interdisciplinary solutions to the grand challenges facing our nation and our world.  There is strong interest in engaging architecture in a wide variety of exciting research, teaching and outreach opportunities.  The College of Architecture is committed to developing a new paradigm of education that links rigorous research with creative design.  We also believe our students should be highly engaged in community outreach projects and are developing internships and scholarships supported by our professional communities.


The salary will be competitive commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The appointment could occur as soon as July 1, 2015.
