Dean College invites applications for the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services/Dean of Admissions position. The AVP/Dean is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive enrollment plan for the undergraduate Day School. The AVP/Dean will focus on day to day operations of the office, manage the communications stream to prospective students, analyze data that will drive recruitment initiatives, and manage a staff of multiple admission officers. The AVP/Dean is an integral part of the management team in the Division of Enrollment Services and Marketing and works closely with a number of offices across campus, including but not limited to; Center for Student Services (Financial Aid, Registrar), Marketing, Student Retention, etc...



A. Directs the Admissions process from prospect's first contact through enrollment.

B. Provides supervision, training and ongoing staff development and mentorship for admission officers.

C. Analyzes data and the current recruitment landscape to inform the decision-making process, and evaluate current strategies to respond to changing markets and applicant pools.

D. Develops and manages a multi-year strategy for student recruitment, to include segmented communication and marketing plans, travel planning, campus visitations, recruitment events, and annual budget development.

E. Collaborates with members of the campus wide enrollment management team to ensure strategic use of institutional financial aid to achieve enrollment and revenue goals.

F. Works in conjunction with the Marketing team to develop all admission marketing materials.

G. Remains current in the understanding and use of new technology, and approaches utilized in college admissions.

H. Manages the admissions budget.

I. Serves on college-wide committees and work teams.


 Performs other duties as required or assigned.


Required Skills and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required, Master's Degree highly desired. At least 8 to 10 years of higher education enrollment management/admissions experience of increasing responsibility. Experience with Student Financial Aid highly desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent team building and leadership skills along with the ability to think strategically. Exceptional computer skills, preferably, familiarity using Datatel. Minimum five years managerial and supervisory experience of admission officers and involvement with the management of operations staff required. Proven success in providing optimum customer service and staff training, in an educational environment, focused on the student experience.

a. SKILLS: Proven experience with strategic plan development and implementation. Possesses excellent customer service, diplomatic, negotiation, collaborative, and inclusive style of management. Ability to manage at a high level, work with the senior management team, and interact positively with College departments. Asserts excellent judgment. Possesses a high level of technical skill, communication know-how (oral and written). Dedicated to the Mission and Values of the College community, while focusing on improving the quality of the student experience on campus.

b. PHYSICAL: Subject to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends, in a fast-paced environment. Stand and sit for long periods of time.
