Due to anticipated international expansion in China, The Department of Economics and Finance in the College of Business and Technology of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee invites applications for a tenure-track position in economics beginning in Fall 2014.
Job Summary/Basic Functions: Assistant Professor in Economics beginning Fall 2014. The position will be housed in Johnson City, TN and will require teaching in China. Course responsibilities include teaching Macro and Micro Principles of Economics and Quantitative Methods. Special consideration will be given to those who can teach Accounting Principles in addition to economics. The anticipated teaching load is 18 hours per year and may include spring, summer and fall semesters. The service obligation will consist of academic advising of Chinese students in addition to traditional department, college and university committee duties. The successful candidate is expected to engage in scholarly activity.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Economics or ABD status with completion prior to August 2015 and Chinese fluency are required
Work Hours: The teaching load is 18 hours per year
The college is fully accredited by AACSB International
