The Division of Mathematics at OHS (encompassing courses in mathematics, computer science, and economics) is characterized by a strong focus on mathematical discovery through high-level, rigorous seminar discussion sections. The curriculum focuses on building a solid foundation in mathematical sciences, with courses focused on both mathematical theory and applications of mathematics. The Division emphasizes vertical integration of courses from foundational secondary mathematics courses through advanced university-level offerings. The purpose of this job is to develop and instruct Math courses at Stanford Online High School in Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS).

Core Duties:

-Prepare for class, lead discussion sections, record lectures, hold office hours, and assist students in using course materials.
-Monitor student progress, give feedback, and discuss performance with students, parents, instructional supervisor, counseling staff, and administrative staff.
-Assist with development and revision of curricula.
-Develop and teach residential and non-residential summer courses and remote, in-person instructed courses.
-Serve as advisor to student clubs and activities, lead outreach or interest sessions, and serve defined roles in the broader SPCS program communities.
-Serve on committees within SPCS or its programs.

Master's degree (or equivalent course work) in subject area relevant to that being taught by instructor. One year experience teaching at the high school/college level, or equivalent.

-Facility with teaching traditional and online courses.
-Proficiency using computer applications.
-Excellent communication and decision-making skills for interfacing with Stanford OHS staff, students, and families.

Knowledge of computer science and the ability to teach introductory computer science courses are desirable.
