St. Lawrence University invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Communications.
Reporting to the President, the Vice President will serve as the University's chief communications officer, acting as a strategic and practical advisor to the President and senior staff in the development and execution of the University's communications and marketing plans for promoting the University and its mission. As the member of the senior staff overseeing the Department of Communications, he or she will lead a team of 12 to raise the awareness and reputation of St. Lawrence University as a top undergraduate liberal arts institution. The office is responsible for the design and production of print and electronic publications, the University website, news and media relations, social media, photography, video, and the St. Lawrence magazine. The Vice President also oversees the administration of the University's public radio station, North Country Public Radio.

The next Vice President will be a visionary, strategic and creative leader who will provide direction in building a unique "brand identity" regarding the distinctives of St. Lawrence University. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in an equivalent setting with significant leadership experience in integrated marketing, public relations, market analysis, and communication whether in higher education or elsewhere. He or she will demonstrate a proven track record of creative and visionary leadership in the development of communication and marketing plans in coordination with multiple stakeholders. The University seeks an energetic and enthusiastic leader with excellent communication skills, someone particularly able to persuade, explain, and to communicate using words and images in print, digital, and social media, and with strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate to the numerous and varied University constituencies.
