Florida International University seeks an experienced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial fundraising professional for the role of Executive Director of Leadership Giving and Capital Campaign Planning, University Advancement.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of University Advancement, the Executive Director of Leadership Giving and Capital Campaign Planning, University Advancement is responsible for developing the campaign plan, monitoring the timely and accurate implementation of campaign tasks and activities, reporting on campaign progress, serving as staff lead to the Campaign Committee, and coordinating other campaign volunteers.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible advancement experience in higher education, including a strong documented record of solicitation and stewardship. Experience as a senior team member in leading a large-scale comprehensive campaign from conception to closure is required, as well as a thorough understanding of best practices as related to modern campaign management. S/he will have a fundamental and thorough understanding of complex, large-scale higher education fundraising operations and the variety of units that comprise them. Hands-on experience as a frontline fundraiser is critical. S/he will possess a demonstrated ability to conceptualize, design and implement a campaign program, including assessment of philanthropic potential to determine capacity and goals plus the ability to direct the design of strategies for cultivation and solicitation of donor prospects. S/he will have strong strategic, project management, organization and administrative skills to lead a wide variety of projects and programs. The successful candidate will possess superior presentation skills, including the presence to deal effectively with senior level administrators, volunteers, donors and prospects, as well as excellent communications skills, including the ability to write, edit and speak clearly and effectively, and deliver an effective, coherent, and consistent message a communication style that is open, cordial, and issues focused.
A bachelors degree in an appropriate specialization and eight years of experience, or a masters degree in an appropriate specialization and six years of experience is required.
