Assistant Professor Position in Human Development and Family Studies
The Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) program, Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Houston seeks scholars for a full-time, 9 month, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level with the possibility of a joint appointment in one of the graduate programs. The department seeks applicants with expertise in either: learning, cognition, and student success or parenting.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in HDFS, psychology, learning and cognition, or a related field. Successful applicants will show strong potential to attract external funding for their research, exhibit a record of published scholarship, exhibit commitment to undergraduate and teaching, effectively mentor graduate students in teaching and research, and build collaborations across programs and units.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and possible graduate courses, securing external funding to support their research agenda and student trainees, conducting and presenting research via scholarly publications and presentations, serving on departmental, college-level, and university-level committees, and potentially serving on master's and doctoral committees.
