Job Description: The University of Florida, Department of Medicine, invites applicants to apply for a non-tenure accruing, full time, research position at the Assistant Scientist level(Pos#00028699)in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. This position will focus on studying cancer metabolism and the genetics of salivary gland tumors to develop new therapeutic strategies. The candidate will also provide laboratory research support for a multi-disciplinary team studying cancer biology using mouse model systems. Therefore, the candidate must have demonstrated expertise in cell and molecular biology as well as the design and manipulation of small animal models. Prior work with AAV viral transfer and salivary gland tumor models is highly preferred. This position will receive research salary support, but will be expected to obtain independent, external support within three years of hire.
