Lafayette College invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost, the College’s chief academic officer.  A highly selective undergraduate college with a rare combination of programs in the liberal arts and in engineering, Lafayette seeks a strategic and forward-looking leader to work in partnership with its distinguished faculty, senior administrative colleagues, and the President.

The Provost provides vision and direction for the academic program of the College.  Direct reports to the position include the Dean of the Faculty, with responsibility for the recruiting, mentoring, and professional development of the faculty; Dean of Curriculum and Resources; Dean of Advising and Co-Curricular Programs; Dean of Libraries, Director of the Arts, Director of Engineering, Director of Institutional Research, and the Registrar.  Additional areas managed within the Provost’s office include sponsored research, international and off-campus study, and community engagement.

Founded in 1826, Lafayette today is an independent, coeducational institution with 2,500 full-time students of high intellectual promise and diverse backgrounds.  The College’s faculty are effective and challenging teachers in a range of traditional and innovative educational contexts; they are also active scholars, which contributes to the academic vibrancy and distinctiveness of the community.  Easton’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia helps students extend their learning experiences, as do Lafayette’s co-curricular intellectual, cultural, athletic, and social programs.

With a new President and an ambitious institutional agenda, Lafayette offers an exceptional opportunity for a talented, inspiring and collaborative educator.  Evaluation of candidate materials will begin immediately and continue until a new Provost is selected.  Nominations, applications, confidential inquiries, and questions regarding the search should be sent to:
