THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work invites applications for a one-year Lecturer position in sociology for the 2014-15 academic year, with the possibility of renewal, beginning August 16, 2014. Typical teaching load is four courses per semester, including introductory courses in sociology and theme-based courses introducing students to social science. There may also be an opportunity to teach selected upper-level courses in sociology. Candidates must have at least a Masters degree in sociology or successful completion of 36 hours towards a doctorate in sociology. Successful experience teaching Sociology as instructor of record is required, as is interest in cross-discipline collaboration. An ability to contribute to UDs Common Academic Program and interdisciplinary collaborations of the department is preferred (cf. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhmesfx77kY) . Candidates complementing the department's focus on local and global communities and social justice are preferred.
