Job Description: Maintain critical, complex, networked systems in Academic Technology, including DNS and DHCP in a large, dynamic network. Incumbent will need a deep understanding of why particular systems and networking technologies work; proficiency with cookbook recipes is insufficient. Develop and oversee the execution of system management processes and procedures. Using current tools such as SOAP and ReST devise and oversee the execution of integration strategies for information sharing among highly diverse servers.
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications At least three years of experience managing Unix and Linux servers. Two years of hands-on experience managing NIS (YP), NFS, LDAP, DNS or DHCP. Ability to design and implement programs in Perl, using an object-oriented methodology Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware problems and design their solutions Experience with XML and SOAP
