The Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM) has primary day-to-day responsibility planning, implementing, managing, and reporting all enrollment and admissions activities of the College. The new Vice President will oversee admissions, recruitment, retention, and the adult learning program, as well as supervise a full staff of employees and play a significant role in the continued implementation of the institutions strategic plan.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the changing marketplace in higher education, particularly for small, independent colleges and universities. A proven track record of increasingly responsible experience is a must. The ability to work collaboratively to carry out the goals of the institution, being able to manage a transformative and changing work environment, and having familiarity with marketing and data-informed decision-making are all necessities. The new Vice President must possess outstanding communication skills, be an energetic and effective manager, and provide strong mentoring and support to the department.
Talladega College was founded in 1867 by William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, with assistance from the Freedmans Bureau, to educate the children of former slaves. Initially a primary school, Talladega added facilities for women in 1869. The College has since grown into a four-year liberal arts college, embracing an historic educational mission that celebrates intellectual excellence, hard work, and morality, and serves individuals regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or religion. A cultural icon as well as an institution of higher education, Talladegas peaceful, tree-lined campus houses such treasures as the renowned Amistad Murals and the famous Driskell stained glass windows of the De Forest Chapel. Talladega College prepares students for work and ongoing educational achievement, and fosters an appreciation for diversity in all its forms. For more information, please visit www.talladega.edu.

Well-developed problem solving and creative skills, exceptional management ability, sound judgment and decision-making based on accurate and timely analyses will be key. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of integrity and dependability, with a robust results-orientation. The new VPEM will possess a strong commitment to higher education and the ability to create a passionate and articulate message for potential students and their families.
