Job Description:
The Management Department in the College of Business at Minnesota State University, Mankato seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, probationary faculty position that starts August 16, 2024. This position will be responsible for teaching management and entrepreneurial related courses in the Department of Management as well as courses in the online Bachelor of Business Administration program. The successful candidate is expected to serve as an advisor for student organizations, advise students, conduct research, and provide service to the department, college, university, and region.The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in curriculum design, instruction and evaluation, conduct research productively and mentor students in research, help create innovative strategies for student recruitment, retention, and completion, and may be expected to develop external grant funding opportunities. All faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly or creative activity or research, in continuing preparation and study, in contributing to student growth and development, and in providing service to the university and community (see Article 22 and Appendix G of the IFO Master Agreement).
  • A typical faculty workload responsibility may include up to twenty four (24) credits of instruction per academic year.



  • The successful candidate may need to teach in other areas as assigned and qualified.

  • May be expected to develop and deliver face-to-face, hybrid, and on-line instruction at the Mankato campus, online, and/or at the university's additional locations, as assigned.

  • The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in curriculum design, instruction and evaluation, conduct research productively and mentor students in research, help create innovative strategies for student recruitment, retention, and completion, and may be expected to develop external grant funding opportunities.

  • All faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly or creative activity or research, in continuing preparation and study, in contributing to student growth and development, and in providing service to the university and community (See Article 22 and Appendix G of the IFO Master Agreement).




Required Qualifications:
  • Doctorate or terminal degree in business or business-related discipline. (Conferred on an official transcript a the time of application.)



  • Demonstrated ability to serve a diverse population and apply an equity lens to this position including social justice and/or anti-racism.




Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.



  • Demonstrated effective written, oral communication and/or presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach the courses listed below, along with additional courses depending on the department’s needs: general management and agribusiness courses.

  • Experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modes of delivery.

  • Ability to conduct applied research.

  • Experience in leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability or experience working with non-traditional student populations.




Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.

Management
The Department of Management is housed in the AACSB accredited College of Business and serves approximately 600 majors and 140 minors. Management is the largest major in the College of Business and is in the top four in student enrollments at the University. Diverse students from all over the world seek out the Management program. The Department currently consists of seventeen full-time faculty and offers emphases in Business Management and Human Resource Management along with minors in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Human Resource Management, and AgriBusiness & Food Innovation.
