Indiana University is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to serve as the Director of Finance and Administration for the Office of the Vice President for Engagement (OVPE), including IU Marketing and IU Economic Engagement. OVPE is an 8+ million dollar financial portfolio comprised of over 60 staff.
Job Summary: Reports directly to the Associate VP and Chief of Staff for Engagement and oversees operation of the OVPE finance and administration office including all business planning, financial, accounting, budget planning, and human resource activities. Has financial leadership over IUs central brand efforts including monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting, agency rate setting, capacity planning, billing, and overall financial management.
Provides leadership in developing human resource for the Office to ensure alignment with the overall mission, strategic goals, and objectives of the university; and guides the development of staffing plans and role definition with the goal of realizing efficiencies through the consolidation of resources.
Defines and promotes parameters for workforce flexibility, leadership development, and creative recruitment and compensation practices necessary to meet the constantly evolving needs of the university; and oversees highly focused, well-trained professionals professional and support staff fully trained in functional areas and support services.
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree and eight years of progressive experience in a financial management position.
Strong work experience in the field of finance including excellent financial, planning and negotiation skills. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.
Preferred: MBA or Masters in a related field; five years of management experience; experience in planning and developing systems for managing data and finances for large, complex organizations; experience in higher education.
