The Department of Teacher Education and Human Performance at Minot State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Teacher Education at the Assistant Professor level. Appointment will begin in August, 2014.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in education with specialty in Early Childhood. Candidates who are ABD will be considered for this position with the understanding that degree requirements will be completed prior to employment. Three (3) years of experience teaching in PK-12 schools and/or relevant teacher educator experience.
Roles and Responsibilities: This faculty member will be responsible for teaching early childhood education courses. Other courses may include educational foundations, educational psychology, curriculum, assessment, and classroom management with a expected teaching load of 12 semester hours. Assignments may include undergraduate or graduate level teaching, depending upon the applicants qualifications.
Additional responsibilities include the advisement of teacher education majors at the undergraduate or graduate level, service on campus committees, graduate student project/thesis committees as qualified, and support of departmental functions necessary for overall program assessment and accreditation. Faculty in Teacher Education and Human Performance are evaluated on the basis of teaching, scholarship and service.
