Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre


The Department of Communication at Mississippi State University seeks applicants for a visiting assistant professor position beginning August 2014. The department ( is one of the largest on campus with currently approximately 550 majors are in concentrations of Broadcasting, Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, and Theatre.


Candidates should have professional and/or an academic theatre experience in direction and performance. ABD applicants will be considered, but a terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.) in theatre is preferred. Review of applications will begin April 8 and continue until the position is filled.


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the activities below. The successful candidate will have a 3/3 teaching load, direct one play per semester, and have some service responsibilities, including coordinating the North Mississippi High School Drama Festival in December.
